#659 Lightly-used Bai Minority Embroidered Girls Hat. Clean red cotton hat with simplified crown embroidered with a transforming cranes and longevity Chinese character. Surrounding the open top are well-embroidered silk green and white flowers; on the sides are a circle with red and orange flowers trimmed with needle weaving; in the front above a commercial flower and bird ribbon are seven plastic green Buddhas. Additional top decorations of yarn and tassels with glass beads; purchased in Dali, Yunnan Province in July 1987; made c 1980; excellent condition; 20” circumference
