Lively dowry quilt cover with fanciful creatures in 24 8.5”squares of black cotton appliquéd birds, crabs, fish, and flowers using commercial cotton and satin in bright colors; white cotton borders on each square; all hand-stitched except for attaching white border strips; backed and framed with hand-woven cotton; great condition; created by Zhuang or Bouyei or possibly Miao people probably in Nandan County of northern Guangxi Province or possibly across the border in Luodian or Wangmo Counties of Guizhou, China;  1930’s – 1940’s
