Beautiful well-designed appliqué quilt top of eight 10 ” cotton squares and eight 7.5” x 10” dark indigo handwoven cotton rectangles assembled to create a large medallion surrounded by appliqué insects, flowers, and birds on black cotton; black cotton on two ends; appliqués of flowers, pomegranates, fish, birds, and butterflies abound in market solids and print cottons; many charming combined images such as pomegranate butterfly flower; all over-stitched by hand with white thread; backed with stiffened handwoven cotton; excellent unused condition; c 1950; 39”x 34” , no additional frame
