Antique Bai Minority Temple-Shaped Festival Hat; Lovely satin-stich silk embroidery with fine details of a crane, mouse, butterflies, deer, peaches, bat, and large lotus on upper crown; bottom has a worn woven ribbon which black silk is shattering due to age; polished cotton lining is fading; c 1900; collected by the late Peter Nelson in the Dali area of Yunnan Province in 1989; 21” circumference.
