790 Gold Foil Embroidered Silk Tiger Hat; Silk embroidery primarily done on gold foil paper on the face, ear flaps, and back; other areas are lyrical silk embroidered flowers and butterflies outlined in couched in metal thread; top has the classic red silk knot; the gold foil  “wang” character for “king” of the beasts has some missing sections; the original purple silk lining is worn as is purple silk on the top; in general good condition for a late 19^th century survivor;  northern China; 18” circumference, 12.5”long
